I have given chocolate assortment souvenir bought from William Curley to my family the other day.

Their review in fact was that the chocolate coting is on average rate, the eccentric filling is unlikely popular in Japan.

I should have chosen plain chocolate bars or chocolate sheets. It is cheaper as well.

They insist that they can buy delicious chocolate like the photos below in supermarkets in Japan at one tenth of the price!

Well, they are right. We do not need to check around to find better chocolate. But in London, I can not resist to find proper chocolate as it is difficult to meet delicious chocolate in supermarket in the UK, and particularly important, it is almost impossible to find such sensitive delicious cakes like William Curley’s in the UK.

Chocolate Market in Southwark, London

Chocolate Festival Market London 09

Outside the famous concert venue, Royal Festival Hall in Southwark, there was lovely market place for the chocolate festival. I took the photo above.

Other than the William Curley and the manufacturer of the chocolate for William Curley, AMEDEI, most of other stalls looked less sophisticated, however, they were like a lovely school bazaar festival.

Particularly I was interested in the stall below, MANGARO Madagascar Chocolate.

MANGARO 1ER CRU DE PLANTATION

I bought a milk chocolate shown on the left, with 50% cacao for £2.25.

I requested their business card to the salesman above but he did not say anything and started to deal with other shoppers.

Just after I tasted the chocolate and I felt slight different flavour, which I fancy I do not really like, but overall, it was delicious.

I have searched ‘Mangaro 1ER CRU DE Plantation’ on the Internet, presumably, it is produced by Michel Cluizel.

However, there are no word Michel Cluizel, no producer’s name or address written on the package. Only below is written on the back of the package.

“Ingredients: whole milk powder, plantation ‘Mangaro’ cacao beans, cacao butter, cane sugar, bourbon vanilla. may contain traces of nuts.”

The design of the logos and atmosphere are also different from the products shown on Michel Cluzel’s website.

I think it is worth tasting Michel Cluzel’s chocolate as well. It seems they do not have high street retail shops in the UK, so it will be delivered.

I have checked Website of the Patisserie Chocolatier, William Curley and found new cake, Fraisier ( left picture captioned from their website ) which I am sure I will love. I went to their cafe in Richmond the other day, but unfortunately, it had just been sold out by around 3:30 in the afternoon. I should have reserved it.

Instead, I have tried the tropical frout cake and raspberry chocolate cake below.

I can taste they use specially selected ingredients and they are very light in taste and it reveals the quality of the cake, which can not be found anywhere else in London mysteriously, as far as I know.

I also found that they have got other cake and chocolate shops in London. As it seems the shop contact details are not in their website, I uploaded the cake bag below.

For souvenir, I bought the Easter Egg Chocolate below, 70g at £7 each. As I have not bought proper chocolate recently, I have justified to spend for this by myself.

William Curley

I recommend the cake cafe called William Curley in Richmond, outer London. The owner of the cafe, William Curley and his Japanese wife are patissier.

You can notice the beautiful cakes like jewels by just visiting their website. I guarantee the taste does not betray you.

I miss the Mont-blanc cake as they are not sold in this country, except for this cake cafe as far as I know. Sooner or later I could try baking the cake, or go ahead there when the weather is nice.
